8 Ideas for Better Health!
As summer approaches, we know everyone is thinking about health and fitness! Whether you're a seasoned athlete, or brand new to this whole "exercise and clean eating" thing, we've gathered some fun ideas to help kick start your summer health and fitness journey!
1. Sign up for an obstacle race
Could you simply run the usual 5k, 10k, or even half marathon? Sure! But why not try something just as challenging, but with a fun twist?! Crawling through tires, ziplining across a lake, and climbing giant ropes are just a few of the exciting obstacles you can endure (we mean, enjoy) during races like KC Timber Challenge, Tough Mudder, or Spartan Race! Plus, training for one of these races is a great way to get in shape, with the entry fee helping hold you accountable.
2. Experiment at the farmer's market
Want to support local and shop delicious, healthy foods? The farmer's market is calling your name! Make an experiment out of your trip by picking produce you've never tried before, then go home and make a new dish! Who knows? You could make your new favorite healthy meal! 3. Join a rec league
Want to make exercise as fun as possible? Join a rec beach volleyball, kick ball, or softball league! You can grab some friends, or make new ones, and sign up for a local team and have fun competing and exercising all summer long! 4. Grab a partner
Having someone join us at the gym, or for a bike ride, can make our fitness journey more enjoyable. You could dedicate Friday mornings to meeting up with your neighbor for a walk, or join a co-worker for 6am yoga once a week! Sometimes, all we need is a little company to help us accomplish our goals.
5. Hop on a trend
If you're an avid TikTok or Instagram consumer, you might have noticed the vast amount of fitness videos, of regular people like us, getting in shape. From healthy recipes to unique exercise challenges, you could find yourself getting very inspired! A couple of our faves are weighted hula hoops, drinking daily greens, and jump rope dancing!
7. Refresh your playlist
Creating a solid playlist of songs that get you pumped up and motivated to crush your workout is always a good idea.
8. Update your workout wardrobe
When we look good, we feel good. It's a fact. Spice up your wardrobe with new, quality, flattering workout tops, bottoms, and shoes and strut your stuff! Feel that wave of confidence rush over you, and really push you to do your best.
